JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District is one of the most interesting hotels I’ve stayed at. From the outside looking in, you wouldn’t think it’s as elaborate as it is on the inside. As I walked in, I was greatly surprised by the hotel’s interior. I felt as though I had walked into a museum. On display, they have meteorites from space, mammoth tusks, and a wall of 32 large crystals. I love live music, and seeing a live pianist playing in the lobby was nice. This particular Marriott has three accommodating experiences: Power Plant, Three Muses, and Atlantic. My bi-level loft room was in the power plant building. The Power Plant has a life-size, chrome-dipped dinosaur, restaurants inside and outside the hotel, art galleries, and rooftop lounges.
Bi-Level Loft
As a Titanium Status member with Marriott, I enjoy numerous perks, including complimentary room upgrades. To enhance my chances of securing a room upgrade, I often use my Nightly Upgrade Awards, previously known as Suite Night Awards. I was thrilled to learn that my room upgrade had been confirmed a few nights before my stay. Upon check-in and ascending in the transparent elevator, I eagerly explored my upgraded One Bedroom King Bi-Level Loft. Spanning 700 sqft/630sm, it featured two bathrooms, two closets, a sofa bed, a mini fridge, two TVs, robes, slippers, and a sizeable arch-top window, offering a panoramic view of the surroundings. What I enjoyed most about my room was that it was a loft, as I’d never stayed in a loft at a hotel, and I couldn’t hear much outside noise.
Food
There are plenty of restaurants to choose from during your stay, including Graffito(Pizza), Baobab Lounge(African), Savannah Tequila Co.(Mexican), Electric Moon Skytop Lounge + Moon Deck(American), and a few others. I had Graffito a couple of times, as well as Starbucks and Tequila Co. The pepperoni pizza was my favorite place to eat throughout my stay as it was conveniently located onsite.
Review
The JW Marriott Savannah is located on the Savannah Riverfront in historic Savannah, GA. This location was perfect for me as I wouldn’t have to travel far by car for entertainment. Valet is $53 daily or up to $53 for 8+ hours. The hotel has a fitness center, outdoor pool, spa, 24-hour room service, and pets are welcome. I would stay again because I immensely enjoyed walking outside to get coffee, sitting in front of the riverfront on a bench, or having the option of sitting at a restaurant while still maintaining river views. Their lobby is inviting and captures your attention when you walk in.
